An important aspect when it comes to traveling is the place where we choose to stay for a few days or weeks. This place has the power to influence the quality of our entire trip.

Being a dynamic person, I always make long trip lists when I travel, so relaxing in a hotel room is not one of my priorities. However, after a very busy day in which you visit as many tourist attractions as you can, I believe that it is important to relax in a hospitable hotel. As far as I’m concerned, I will always remember with great pleasure those welcoming hotels where I had a great time.

For example when I traveled to Poland, I chose to stay at the Q Hotel Krakow and I definitely don’t regret my choice. Situated in Bronowice District, on Radzikowskiego Street at number 142, this hotel has an excellent location. It is situated close to the airport and also to downtown. This means you will be about 8 kilometers away from the most beautiful tourist attractions in Krakow.

You should also know that a shopping mall, some supermarkets and some famous fast food restaurants are all located nearby. Furnished in a very modern way, the Q Hotel Krakow will welcome you in a very pleasant and youthful ambience.

The hotel has 89 air-conditioned rooms equipped with all the necessary amenities which go from safes, phones, coffee makers, ironing boards to free newspapers, laundry facilities and even a library.  An important aspect is the fact that the Q Hotel Krakow offers free WiFi and free parking spaces.

You can either have a drink in the bar or enjoy an excellent meal in the restaurant, but either way you will have a great time there. Located in the business district of the city, this hotel can also host private meetings and small conferences.

Another important aspect about the Q Hotel Krakow is the fact that their well-trained staff offers an impeccable service.

As far as I’m concerned I believe I made the perfect choice to stay at the Q Hotel Krakow during my trip to Poland and I am sure you will think the same if you choose to stay there.

Situated in southwestern Poland, this city hosts a number of beautiful tourist attractions that are definitely worth visiting. You don’t have to follow my advice, but maybe the tourist attractions I listed below will convince you to take a trip to Krakow.

1.St. Mary’s Church or St. Mary’s Basilica is in my opinion the symbol of the beautiful Main Square, which is the biggest medieval square in Europe. Even if the square seems to be perfectly symmetrical, this Gothic church made of brick spoils this harmony because of its position. The original church was destroyed during the Mongol invasion and it was rebuilt on the remaining foundations.

2.Situated right in the middle of the Main Square, the Cloth Hall is a Renaissance construction which was built by some Italian artists. The Cloth Hall that you can admire today in the center of the city is actually the third replica of the building. A cloth hall is a historic building located in the center of different cities containing trading stalls used for selling cloth, leather, salt and other exotic imports such as spices and silk. Also called Sukiennice, this lovely construction has an interesting architecture with a lot of details and decorative gargoyles on top.

3.Adam Mickiewicz Monument is located between the Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Church. As the name suggests, this monument was built to commemorate the most famous Polish romantic poet of the 19^th century. Adam Mickiewicz’s poems were considered a great moral support for the Polish people in the partition period, when Poland was divided between Prussia, Austria and Russia. His lyrics became real mottoes of encouragement for the entire Poland.

4.Saint Adalbert’s Church is a small church built in the Baroque style. According to the legend, this church was built in the same place where Saint Adalbert used to preach. This is also a building which doesn’t seem to fit the scenery, because it’s not perfectly aligned with the rest of the buildings situated in the Main Square. An interesting fact about this small church is that you can learn a lot of details about the history of the medieval Krakow in the small museum located in its crypts.

5.The Town Hall Tower was the first building that caught my attention when I entered the Main Square. This tower is actually the only standing structure belonging to the original Town Hall. What I really liked about this tower was its interesting Baroque cupola, which you could visit in case you want to admire a panoramic view over the city.

6.I must admit that I was deeply impressed by an innovative sculpture called “Eros Bendato”. Situated right at the foot of the Town Hall Tower, this modern sculpture is also called “The Head” and it became one of the most photographed tourist attractions in the entire Main Square. Designed by Igor Mitoraj, this empty head will offer you the chance to take a couple of funny pictures.

7.Situated on Grodzka Street, very close to the Main Square, the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is the first Polish Baroque church. This Baroque church has an interesting exterior which is very similar to Il Gesu, a Jesuit church in Rome. It is said that the construction of this church lasted almost 30 years. The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is famous for the stone statues of the 12 apostles situated on the fence in front of the church.

8.The Royal Wawel Castle is located on Wawel Hill and it is considered one of the national cultural institutions. This castle is actually a historic residence museum where you can admire interesting exhibitions related to the history of Polish monarchs. In case you decide to visit these exhibitions, you will have the chance to find out interesting things about the lives of the monarchs and the history of the Polish military.

9.Situated in the courtyard of the Wawel Castle , the Wawel Cathedral is my favorite building in Krakow. This national sanctuary was the place where important Polish monarchs were crowned and buried. This Roman Catholic church, also called the Royal Basilica of Saints Stanislaus and Wenceslaus, is considered the most important church in Poland. The fact that the exterior and the chapels of the cathedral are built in different architectural styles make the edifice really impressive and unique.

It is said that good food is the foundation of genuine happiness and also a celebration of life. When I think about good food and also about my most recent travel experience, the first place that comes to my mind is Rzeznia-Ribs on Fire in Krakow.It’s not difficult to guess which is the specialty of this restaurant, right? As the name suggests, the main course in this restaurant consists of ribs which are served with different types of sauces and potatoes.

Situated in the central area of Krakow, on Bozego Ciala Street, at number 14, this fabulous restaurant will offer you the chance to taste the best grilled pork ribs in town. There are actually three types of ribs you can choose from: maple syrup ribs, spicy grilled ribs or bourbon sauce ribs. As a fan of ribs, I must say that my favorites are the bourbon sauce ribs.

This restaurant is also famous for its lamb sausages or beef tartare served with different types of vegetables and salads and also for its delicious desserts. A delicious meal accompanied by a glass of beer or wine will put you in the perfect mood.

Even if Rzeznia is a small restaurant with an even smaller terrace, the atmosphere you will experience there will be incredibly pleasant. A modern and youthful decor will urge you to relax and enjoy that delicious food. All these details are perfectly completed by an impeccable service.

All things considered, I strongly recommend Rzeznia-Ribs on Fire if you ever get to Krakow.

I must confess that I love this type of situations, because pleasant surprises bring along positive feelings such as gratitude, fulfillment and satisfaction.

To my great surprise, a lovely city in Europe managed to make me experience all these feelings mixed together. I am talking about Krakow, the second largest city in Poland. Also known as Cracow, this city is considered to be one of the most well-preserved old cities in Europe. Situated in southwestern Poland, more exactly in a region called Lesser Poland, Krakow impresses its tourists with a unique blend between Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture.

As you might have already guessed, I didn’t have high expectations of this city, when I planned my trip there. I chose to take a trip to Krakow just because I wanted to visit the famous Auschwitz and the city is not very far from this death camp.

Even if Krakow is not among the most famous cities in the world, it managed to seduce me with its beauty and its interesting tourist attractions. The beautiful Main Square hosts the Church of Saint Mary, the Cloth Hall, the Tower Hall, Saint Adalbert’s Church, Adam Mickiewicz’s Monument and an interesting sculpture called Eros Bendato. All these wonderful places embellish the lively Main Square with its abundance of cafes, restaurants and terraces. The atmosphere you will experience here is both vibrant and relaxing. It is a great feeling to laze in the middle of that fuss, on one of the terraces situated in this area.

Not far from the Main Square, you can find the interesting Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, which is the first Polish Baroque church.

Also situated in the central area, Wawel Hill hosts the imposing Wawel Cathedral and the interesting Royal Wawel Castle. This limestone hill will also offer you the chance to admire a panoramic view over the Vistula River, which is considered the hydrographic axis of Poland.

These are my favorite places in Krakow, but in my opinion this city has a lot more to offer. Give Krakow a chance and you won’t be disappointed! In case you ever get to Krakow, it’s important to know that the Auschwitz Memorial Museum is located at about 60 kilometers outside the city and it would be a pity not to visit both of them.
