Considered a once-in-a lifetime experience, a visit to Jordan should be on any tourist’s list. Despite everything you might have heard about this country, Jordan is very safe. As far as I’m concerned, I felt very safe there and I advise you to plan your trip to Jordan on your own. This way you will save a lot of money and you will have the freedom to admire its fabulous tourist attractions as long as you want. It goes without saying that my friends and I planned this trip down to the smallest detail. In case you follow my advice and you choose to plan your trip on your own it’s important to invest time in gathering valuable information. In order to help you I have put together some tips that might prove useful to you:

1.In case you want to save a sum of money, the Jordan Pass is the perfect opportunity. The Jordan Pass is a ticket which offers you three different packages. They include a lot of benefits and you can choose the one that suits you best, depending on how many days you want to spend exploring Petra. For example, we chose the Jordan Explorer which included two consecutive days in Petra, the free entry to over forty tourist attractions, free digital brochures and the free entry visa to Jordan. In order to get this free entry visa you have to respect two rules. First of all you have to buy the Jordan Pass on the internet before you get to the border and then to prove that you will spend at least three nights in Jordan. The Jordan Explorer cost 75 Jordanian dinars and as I have already said it was a good opportunity to save some money.

2.I advise you to plan your trip down to the smallest detail because Jordan offers a lot of beautiful tourist attractions and it would be a pity not to enjoy as many as you can. In case you want to have enough time to explore the entire complex, you should spend at least two days in Petra. Petra by night is an experience which is not included in any of the packages of the Jordan Pass, but it is worth paying 18 extra dinars in order to admire this place lit by hundreds of candles. An important information is that Petra by night is organized only twice a week, on Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 8.30 p.m. You can buy your tickets in advance from the entrance to the complex.

The Wadi Rum Desert is another experience that you shouldn’t miss while you are in Jordan. You cannot leave Jordan without spending at least a day and a night in this fabulous desert. Exploring the desert in an off-road car and spending the night in one of the tourist camps are the ingredients of a unique experience. We booked this trip online a few months before we got to Jordan.

The Dead Sea is a place which attracts a lot of tourists who are eager to float in its salty waves. The ancient Roman city of Jerash and Amman, the capital of the country, are two other places you shouldn’t miss if you ever get to Jordan. The only thing you should take into account is the fact that you will need at least a week to enjoy all these places.

3.There is no doubt that there are a lot of beautiful places in Jordan and the easiest way to visit as many as possible is by car. We rented a car online from an agency which had an office in the airport. In case you are wondering how difficult it is to drive in Jordan, you should not worry because the traffic is quite light, the public roads are good and the road signs are both in Arabic and English. It’s important to respect the traffic rules, because the risk of getting a ticket is very high. Many police cars are out in the streets trying to prevent accidents and terrorist attacks. We were stopped by the police quite a few times for routine checks, but the officers were very polite to us. Fortunately, we didn’t have the bad luck to get any traffic ticket.

4.When it comes to your travel budget, you should set your expectations properly. The prices in Jordan are quite high and it’s important to decide on the right budget because it would be a pity not to enjoy this country to the fullest. There are some experiences that you should definitely not miss in case you get to Jordan and you have to be able to afford them. Food is also expensive, but the Jordanian cuisine is worth every dinar. It would be a pity not to eat in the best Jordanian restaurants. The good news is the fact that you will save a considerable sum of money if you travel on your own and you can spend it on memorable experiences and also on the delicious Jordanian food.

5.Last but not least, it’s necessary to spend some time looking for good accommodation. Unfortunately, accommodation conditions are not at the same standards as they are in Europe. In this regard you should invest time in finding good accommodation options and check the reviews carefully.

When it comes to food, I have already said that I fell in love with the Jordanian cuisine. My advice is to choose the restaurants carefully, because there are many so-called trap restaurants which serve low quality food. Knowing that, we chose the places where we ate very carefully and we were able to enjoy the Jordanian cuisine to the fullest.

Moldova’s territory was both part of Romania and Russia, before the country became independent. It goes without saying that the influence of these two different cultures can be felt all over the country.

In case you decide to visit the Republic of Moldova, the following tips might help you enjoy your trip to the fullest:

1.First of all it’s important to plan your trip itinerary in detail. As I have already said, Moldova has a few beautiful places to offer and it would be a pity not to discover as many as you can. For example, I combined Chisinau with a few other famous Moldovan tourist attractions and this helped me to have a great time there. It was a real delight to explore Sorocca Fortress, to admire the old blue houses of Butuceni, to discover the history of wine in the local wine cellars or to feel the simple and relaxing vibe of Chisinau. However, you should take into account the fact that you will need at least four or five days to enjoy all these places.

2.Whether you are a wine lover or not, you cannot leave Moldova without plunging into the world of wine. Moldova is famous for its large vineyards, and it goes without saying that it’s also the perfect place where you can find out a lot of details about the history and the manufacturing process of wine. Brands such as Cricova, Milestii Mici, Purcari or Chateau Vartely are just a few examples of quality Moldovan wines. The country is considered a sort of paradise of wines and it offers the possibility of visiting a few interesting wineries and wine cellars. I visited Cricova Winery and Chateau Vartely Resort and Winery and both experiences were great.

3.If there is something you can do excessively in Moldova, eating is the correct answer. The Moldovan cuisine is a blend between Romanian and Russian dishes and it is simply delicious. A lot of quality natural products are used to prepare the Moldovan tasty dishes. I simply love their traditional pies, especially those with cheese and fruit, their traditional soup, especially borsch (beet root soup) and soleanca and their fish and seafood specialties. Eating in Moldova is like eating at your grandma’s house.

4.The best way to travel across the country and enjoy the beautiful Moldovan tourist attractions is by car. In case you choose this means of transport, my advice is to respect the traffic rules because this way you will avoid getting a traffic ticket. You should know that a lot of police cars patrol the public roads and the risk of getting a traffic ticket is very high.

5.You should let yourself delighted by the peaceful vibe of this country. The Republic of Moldova gives you the feeling that you went back in time. People don’t seem so captivated by technology and by social media and you can actually see them talking to each other, rather than staring at their phones. The country is also blessed with natural landscapes and the image of the old villages seem to be cut out of fairy tales.

All things considered, you should set your expectations properly and plan a trip to the Republic of Moldova, because overall  it is worth visiting.

This research really helped me to have a great time in London and this is why I would like to share a few useful tips with you:

1.London has a lot to offer when it comes to beautiful tourist attractions and there is a long list of places that can be visited for free. Even though there are a lot of places you can visit without paying a fee, my advice is not to limit yourself only to these ones. From all the places I have visited in London, the most beautiful ones were those I had to pay an entrance fee for. I understood once again that nothing is for free in life and that we have to pay for the most beautiful things and experiences.

In conclusion, no matter what you choose to visit from the list of free tourist attractions, there are some places you should definitely visit because they are worth every penny. In this regard, I advise you to buy a ticket which includes several tourist attractions because this way you will save some money. For example, I chose the ticket which included 5 tourist attractions: Madame Tussauds, the Sea Life London, Shrek’s Adventure, the London Dungeon and the Coca-Cola London Eye. I have paid only 55 pounds for this ticket, but I would have paid almost triple if I had bought five different ones. In addition, this ticket can be used for a period of 90 days. The amazing Shard is another place you should definitely visit even though you have to pay an entrance fee. The ticket is a little pricey, but it is worth paying for. In case you want to benefit from a discount and save some money, you should book your tickets in advance.

2.Taking into account the high number of tourist attractions which can be visited in London, you should spend at least a few days in this city, in case you want to have enough time to enjoy the most important ones. My advice is to plan each day very carefully and check the schedule of each tourist attraction you are going to visit.

Unfortunately, I missed the changing of the guards in front of Buckingham Palace because I didn’t pay attention to an important detail, the schedule. However, it was not a great loss for me because I have seen a lot of these types of ceremonies in other big cities in the world. In addition, looking on the bright side of things, I had more time to admire its beautiful architectural details and enjoy the atmosphere created by the crowd of people gathered in front of the palace.

3.You should stay in downtown London because the most important tourist attractions are situated in this part of the city. In case you don’t want to take my advice and you will stay on the outskirts of London, you will pay more money on public transportation and you will also lose precious time.

In order to go from one place to another, you should use the subway, which is the most comfortable and the fastest means of public transportation. I advise you to buy a tourist card which allows you to choose the number of trips. You can add trips to this card whenever you want and in case you will not use all of them you can get your money back.

4.It is true that London has a lot of beautiful tourist attractions, but you should allow yourself to also enjoy the authentic vibe of the city. In order to do this, you should take your time to walk in the beautiful streets of London. Baker Street, Oxford Street or Regent Street are just a few examples in this regard. Not to mention that this will be a great opportunity to admire a lot of famous red telephone boxes, which are a symbol of London. You will also have the chance to see how people live in London. It will be very interesting to see a lot of locals dressed in suits who sit on grass in the parks or who stand in front of the local pubs and drink beer.

5.During your stay in London, try to taste as many local dishes as you can. Even though Londoners don’t eat very healthy, it will be a real treat to taste their traditional fish & chips, hamburger & chips, meat pies and their different types of English sandwiches. All these dishes seasoned with their local beer will make you plunge into the authentic atmosphere of London. When it comes to food, I advise you to eat only in the best pubs and restaurants and also in the local markets. Besides the pubs and restaurants, I also ate in Borough Market and in Portobello Market and the food was simply delicious.

These words made me think about what I experienced in India and about how pleasant my trip was. This is how I actually decided to talk about a few useful tips that could make your trip to the Golden Triangle of India more pleasant:

1.You should choose an organized tour because this is the most comfortable and simple way to safely visit this part of India. The Golden Triangle of India includes three important cities, Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, which have a lot to offer when it comes to beautiful tourist attractions. An organized tour usually includes the most important and beautiful places which should be visited by any tourist.

As far as I’m concerned, the tour I have chosen included a very well-planned itinerary with a coach and a local guide and also very good accommodation. This is the perfect option in case you want to save a lot of time and energy and also enjoy the beauty of this part of India. Believe me, no matter how experienced you are as a driver, the traffic in India is chaotic and it’s really difficult to drive there in case you are not a local. When it comes to means of public transport, you don’t even want to imagine how they look like.

2.It is important to choose a tour with an Indian guide because as a local he is able to provide a lot of interesting information about the places you are going to visit. An Indian guide knows a lot of things about the history and the traditions of the country and he will tell you a lot of interesting stories and facts.

The local guides are able to give you very useful tips such as drinking only bottled water, brushing your teeth only with bottled water or being more careful with your personal belongings in some places. They will also give you interesting details about the cultural restrictions you should take into account as a tourist. Beware of the fact that the local guides have their own arrangements to earn money. You should not buy anything from the places they recommend, unless you want to pay almost 10 times more.

3.India is considered a shopping paradise and almost everything there is negotiable. If you drive a hard bargain you can buy quality goods at really good prices. The local bazaars or the local street markets are the perfect places where you can practice your negotiation skills. You should remember that prices are usually very high for the tourists, because tourism is considered a real source of money. It may seem exaggerated but the prices are sometimes 10 times higher than the real ones.

4.In case you decide to book your accommodation on your own, you should be very careful when you do this because not all the places in India look like in pictures. This is another strong reason I really recommend an organized tour.

As far as I’m concerned, I was very pleased with the hotels I stayed in, during my trip to India. In my opinion accommodation is an important aspect, especially since India is a sort of cultural shock for many tourists.

5.Make sure you will have enough time to explore the beauty of this part of India. You should spend at least three days in each of these three cities, in case you want to fully enjoy the beauty of the most important tourist attractions.

6.You should always take a pair of socks and a scarf with you because you will need them in almost all the holy places. You have to take off your shoes before you enter a religious edifice and it’s a little unpleasant to walk barefoot. This is why a pair of socks will solve the problem. There are also mosques or temples where you have to cover your head and a scarf will be more than perfect. Another recommendation is to avoid very short skirts or shorts.

7.You should set your expectations in a realistic way. Expect to discover a fascinating India, but at the same time a poor and depressing one. Over 80 percent of the country’s population lives in improper conditions, worrying about the food and the water for the next day. It is an indescribable feeling to see all those people living in poverty and it’s hard not to be affected by all those images.

8.Indians are very friendly, sometimes too friendly and you should not be very sociable with them, especially with the ones who try to sell you something. It might be difficult to leave without buying something because they are usually very persistent. You might end up buying unnecessary things.

9.You should pay a special attention to the monkeys which walk freely in the streets. The guide told us that they are organized in groups and they might become violent trying to defend their territory. They steal everything from bags and cameras to money or food.

10.Wash your hands as often as possible, use wipes for everything and do not eat in the streets! Excepting the tourist attractions and the public areas, India is a very dirty country and you risk contacting a disease or an infection. I also advise you to carry a mosquito spray with you because insects can be dangerous and they can also spread diseases.

In case you plan a trip to this place, you should take into account a few useful tips:

1.First of all it’s important to know that you have a few options you may choose from, when it comes to the way you can get to the Amber Fort. The fort is situated at a 20-minute drive from Jaipur. In case you travel on your own and you don’t have an agency to take care of your transport, you can use the public transport, a rented car or a taxi.

Even though it is the cheapest option, I don’t recommend the public transport because their buses are really crowded and dirty. In case you decide to rent a car, you should take into account the chaotic traffic in Jaipur and the fact that there are few parking spaces in the area. The best options to get to the fort and enjoy your visit there are to choose an organized tour or to rent a car, but with a driver at your disposal.

2.After reaching the parking area, you should know that you have three options to get to the fort. You can choose an elephant ride around the ruins of the fabulous Amber Fort, you can go by jeep or you can simply walk. If you choose the four-wheel drive you should know that there is a jeep that comes every 60 minutes and if you choose to walk you should know that it will take you about a half an hour to get to the fort.

An important and also disappointing aspect is the fact that travel agencies promote these elephant rides because they are more profitable. This is why they will give you the impression that these rides are the only option you have to get to the fort.

3.I advise you to inform yourself about the places you are going to visit inside the complex, especially if you don’t have a guide at your disposal. There are a lot of interesting places inside the Amber Fort and reading about them will help you decide upon the most beautiful and interesting ones.

4.If you can, you should spend an entire day inside the Amber Fort. Unfortunately, I spend only the first half of the day there and I couldn’t enjoy the evening activities. You should know that in the evening, you can admire the image of the lighted fort from the bottom of the hill or you can enjoy a classical dance program which takes place in Sukh Mahal. You have to pay a fee if you want to watch this show. The icing on the cake is the fact that after dark, you will have the opportunity to watch a gorgeous light show.

5.Bring water with you because the temperature is pretty high inside the temples. Don’t worry in case you run out of water because there is a restaurant inside the complex, called Surabhi, where you can have a meal or a drink. During dinner you can enjoy puppet shows and traditional songs inside this restaurant.

All things considered, there is one more thing left to do. Plan your trip and enjoy it to the fullest!

There are a lot of beautiful places which really deserve to be visited and this is why Italy is one of the countries I have visited so many times so far.

This year I managed to check off the Amalfi Coast, which is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. In case you are going to visit this amazing area, I would like to share a few tips with you, which I’m sure you will really appreciate:

1.First of all, you should see the entire area by taking a car ride along the coast. The union between the high mountains and the sea creates spectacular landscapes and panoramas and it will be a delight to admire them.

On the other hand, parking may be a real problem, because there are not enough parking spaces in the area. Despite this aspect, the coast is definitely worth visiting.

2.Don’t leave the Amalfi Coast without visiting the amazing Positano! This picturesque village was the main reason I dreamed with all my heart to visit this part of Italy. The best place to go to if you want to admire the beauty of Positano is Marina Grande, its most famous beach.

This lovely village built into the hillside of the Amalfi Coast is an oasis of beauty. Make sure you will also admire the village at night because the multitude of lights which embellish the entire place is simply fabulous.

3.The Amalfi Coast is blessed with a lot of beautiful beaches and you should try to add as many as you can to your trip list. Marina di Praia, Marina di Conca and Marina Grande are the ones you should definitely not miss. These amazing beaches are real oases of peace.

4.You should visit the town of Amalfi because it shelters a lot of beautiful tourist attractions. Before I got to the town of Amalfi, I stopped at the side of the road and I took an amazing picture of this lovely settlement. I think it’s one of the most beautiful pictures I have taken on this coast. It could successfully replace a postcard because it perfectly portrays the beauty of the entire area.

5.This part of Italy is also shrouded in mystery thanks to its tumultuous history. The place which perfectly highlights this idea is the ancient city of Pompeii. Nowadays the place is an archaeological site which shelters the ruins of the famous city.

Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the ancient Roman city of Pompeii under a thick carpet of volcanic ash. You will need at least a few hours to visit this site because it covers a large area, but I assure you that it is worth the effort because you will find out a lot of historical details.

6.The experience of visiting the lively Naples is both challenging and exciting. Besides its beautiful tourist attractions, Naples is about chaos, litter, policemen, laundry which flutters in the wrought iron balconies and about the best pizza ever.

It’s real madness, but it is worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. I must confess that Naples is the only European city which reminded me of the chaotic Asia.

7.Another place that you should definitely visit is the luxurious Island of Capri. Situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea, this small island is famous for its unique landscapes and its beautiful tourist attractions. I like to call Capri” the island of flowers” thanks to the multitude of flowers which are a real delight for the tourists.

You should spend at least one day on this island, in case you want to have enough time to admire its most famous places.

8.In case you want to save a considerable amount of money, you shouldn’t rent a room situated in the most famous villages and towns of the Amalfi Coast. It might sound unbelievable but a room could cost 10 times more than another one situated in a nearby city.

I personally chose to spend three nights in Naples, which is about 55 kilometers away from Positano, and four nights in Pompei, which is situated 35 kilometers away. It was a one-hour drive, but it helped me save a lot of money.

9.I developed a passion for porchetta which is a delicious fatty and moist boneless pork roast stuffed with aromatic herbs. I can’t believe that I have been to Italy so many times and that only this year I have discovered this Italian specialty. You should definitely try it because it is simply delicious. Make sure you will also try their fish specialties because the Amalfi Coast is famous for its local fish dishes.

10.Last but not least, you should take a break and go shopping. This might be a great way to relax and recharge your batteries.

However, if you are able to look beyond the negative aspects, you might live a great and unforgettable experience there. This is exactly what happened in my case and I must confess that every time I think about my trip to Naples, I do it with great pleasure. After my own experience there, I would like to suggest a few tips in case you decide to plan a trip to Naples:

1.Don’t let yourself influenced by all the negative things you may read about Naples. It is true that Naples is really dirty, chaotic and that it might be dangerous, but it also offers interesting experiences. In fact, it’s all a matter of perception and you might be surprised to discover really beautiful tourist attractions in this city. This is why you should see Naples with your own eyes and convince yourself that it is the type of place which has quite a lot to offer.

2.Don’t leave Naples without trying the local cuisine. Besides pasta, seafood and a variety of sweets, you should definitely try the delicious pizza and the fried pumpkin flowers. In case you want to enjoy the best Neapolitan pizza go to Gino Sorbillo, one of the most famous pizza places in the city. The taste of this pizza is worth standing in a queue for hours. When it comes to fried pumpkin flowers, I advise you to try them in a local fast food.

3.Walking down the streets of Naples will help you experience the authentic atmosphere of the city. Those tiny cobblestone streets whose image is completed by the clothes that flutter in the wrought iron balconies are really interesting to explore. You should definitely venture in the historical center of the city on foot, because a walk will give you the opportunity to explore its every corner.

Spaccanapoli is the main street of Naples which goes through the old historical center of the city. Make sure you won’t miss Via San Gregorio Armeno, a street where you can visit a few workshops and admire different works of art.

4.You have to be more careful with your belongings in case you don’t want to experience an unpleasant situation. I wasn’t pickpocketed in Naples, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Another advice is to pay attention to the multitude of scooters who drive chaotically in the streets, in case you want to avoid an accident.

5.Make a list with the most important tourist attractions in the city, in case you want to visit as many as possible. A well-planned itinerary will help you organize your trip in a better way and also prioritize the most beautiful attractions.

All things considered, despite its bad reputation, Naples is worth visiting at least once in a lifetime.

There are a lot of things you could do on this lovely island, but no matter what you choose to do there, make sure you take into account the following tips:

1.Establish a clear budget for this trip. Visited by a lot of famous people and blessed with many luxury shops, the Island of Capri is not considered a destination for all pockets. In case your budget doesn’t allow you to accommodate right on the island, you have the option to stay in the nearby towns such as Pompei, Sorrento or Naples. Leaving aside the fact that you will save some money, you will also have the opportunity to visit these interesting towns.

2.In case you decide to stay in the nearby towns I have already mentioned, you should know that it is very easy to get to the Island of Capri. You can take the ferry from Amalfi, Naples, Sorrento or Castellamare, which is a small village situated near Pompei. You can also travel by boat from the famous village of Positano.

3.The Island of Capri has a lot to offer and this is why you should take your time to enjoy it to the fullest. No matter how many days you will spend there, you should definitely not miss a few places. I am talking about La Piazzetta, Augusto Gardens and the Natural Arch, which are three of my favorite places. You should also explore the lovely Marina Grande Harbor and discover the lively atmosphere of the town of Capri.

4.The Island of Capri is also blessed with a few lovely beaches. The most famous ones are Marina Grande Beach and Marina Piccola Beach. Their sand or gravel is washed away by a warm greenish water which seems to urge the tourists to spend a couple of moments of rest and relaxation there.

5.During your stay in Capri you will have the chance to admire a lot of beautiful panoramas which will be a feast for your eyes. Three of them are in my opinion the most beautiful ones. The first panorama which can be enjoyed from La Piazzetta will definitely leave you speechless.

Another one is the spectacular panorama offered by the Faraglioni, which can be admired from Belvedere of Punta Cannone.

Last but not least, the lovely image of the Natural Arch which seems to merge with the sea will be a delight for your heart.

6.Make sure you start your trip early in the morning, in case you want to have enough time to admire the most beautiful places on the island. This small piece of land is often crowded with tourists who are eager to discover its beauty. Believe me you don’t even want to imagine how things get in the afternoon! At least you can enjoy some of the most beautiful places in the morning, when the island is less crowded and agitated.

7.Walking down the narrow streets of Capri will be a great experience. This way you will have the chance to discover the island step by step and also enjoy its unique vibe. Take a map from the info points because it will be easier to find your way on the island. You will also avoid losing yourself in the multitude of narrow mazy streets.

8.You should try the cableway which makes the connection between the harbor and the town of Capri. Even if it’s not a big distance between them, it will help you save a lot of energy and it will also be an interesting experience. The ticket price is really convenient and it costs up to two euros.

9.In case you have enough time to spend there, you should also visit the town of Anacapri which is situated on the other part of the island. I must confess that I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy this part of the island, even if I wanted this very much. If I ever get the chance to return to Capri, the town of Anacapri will be one of my top priorities.

10.Rent a boat or choose to take a boat tour in case you want to enjoy spectacular views and to explore the famous grottoes of the Island of Capri. I would have liked to enjoy this type of experience, but unfortunately I didn’t have the chance because all the boat tours were canceled due to bad weather conditions.

All things considered, I had a great experience on the Island of Capri and I advise you to plan a trip there in case you are going to visit this part of Italy.

1.The history of the ancient city of Pompeii is really interesting and tumultuous. Before you visit this site, try to read a few books or articles about this place because this way you will better understand the history behind the ruins. I also recommend the movie “Pompeii”, which presents the story of the ancient city in a very emotional way.

2.The archaeological site covers an area of 66 hectares and it shelters the ruins of a lot of buildings, houses and gardens. Taking into account the large area you have to visit, make sure you have almost a day to spend there, in order to have enough time to admire the entire site.

3.The Pompeii Excavations is an open air museum and if you visit it in summer, take into account the fact that there will be just a few places where you can shelter from the burning sun. On this note, you will need water, sunscreen and a hat or a scarf. You should also wear comfortable shoes because almost all the streets are cobbled and you’ll have to walk a long distance.

4.The ticket price is 11 euros, excepting the first Sunday of every month, when the entrance is free of charge. This will help you save a small amount of money, in case you are in the area at the beginning of the month.

5.Marina Gate, Exedra Square and Amphitheatre Square are the three entrances you can use to get to the ruins. You can find ticket offices at each entrance and this is a good tip to avoid standing in line. If it’s not very crowded, my advice is to choose Marina Gate because this way you will start your visit with the Forum and its lively square.

6.Take a map with you in case you don’t want to get lost through the ruins. If you are a technology lover, it’s good to know that you can download an application on your phone which will provide you with all the necessary information. Another option is to choose an organized tour with a professional guide. These guided tours can be requested only if you enter the site using Marina Gate or Exedra Square.

7.The ruins of the ancient Pompeii are a feast for the eyes. Make sure you will not miss the area of the Forum with its temples and basilicas, the old Amphitheater, the controversial brothel Lupanar, the richest houses and properties and the beautiful gardens. In my opinion, the most touching place is the Gardens of the Fugitives, a sad area which reveals the petrified bodies of 13 victims. An embracing family who were waiting for the end, a baker who was taking the bread out of the oven and a few painters who were painting a wall are just a few examples.

8.There are a few restrictions inside the archaeological site of Pompeii, which you should keep in mind. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the excavations, but you can use one of the few smoking areas specially arranged for the tourists. In case you are going to take luggage with you, you should know that there are not allowed handbags, backpacks, suitcases or any type of luggage which exceeds the dimensions of 30x30x15 centimeters. Another restriction is that big pets are not allowed inside the site. Animals must wear a leash in case they enter the site.

9.A few buildings might be closed during your visit. It’s important to know that some of the buildings are open during the first part of the day and others during the second part. This is why I advise you to spend an entire day there.

10.Near the Forum you can find a restaurant and a first aid service. There are also picnic areas near Amphitheater Square and Casina dell’Aquila. There will be no problem to rest and have a snack .

In case you have never thought of adding this amazing place to your trip list, you should definitely reconsider the situation. Before planning a trip to the Cinque Terre, my advice is to take into account the following aspects:

1.Choose to accommodate in La Spezia which is a beautiful and peaceful town situated very close to the National Park of the Cinque Terre, at only a few minutes by train.

La Spezia is blessed with a lot of beautiful tourist attractions and it is also a perfect place to stay in case you want to visit other lovely places situated in the same area. For example, besides the Cinque Terre you can also plan short trips to Pisa, Portofino or Porto Venere, which are very popular places among tourists. Many tourists choose to accommodate in La Spezia because of the good prices they find there.(here is my recommendation)

2.It is really easy to get to the Cinque Terre from La Spezia by train. To get to the first village, you will travel only a few minutes. My advice is to buy a one day ticket. The price of this ticket is 16 euros, but it is really worth it, if you take into account the fact that you can use it as many times as you want throughout the day. This will be a great opportunity to take your time and visit those five lovely villages. You can also walk from one village to another, but this is a waste of time and energy.

3.You should take your time and visit all the five villages because they are very beautiful. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso have a lot to offer.

Walking down the narrow streets will give you the chance to discover lovely old buildings, fortresses, churches, small bays and beautiful beaches. The architectural style is simple, but it is at the same time blessed with an extraordinary authenticity.

4.Make sure you won’t leave the villages without admiring their most beautiful panoramas! Each village will give you the opportunity to admire spectacular views and to take amazing photos. I must confess that it was a real delight to admire all those spectacular panoramas.

In order to be easy for you to find the right places where you can admire those famous views, you could ask additional info at the info points, take a map or simply follow the crowd which will surely get you there.

5.In case you want to relax under the sun rays or go for a swim, you should choose Monterosso Beach which is situated in the village with the same name. Blessed with fine sand and clear blue water, this beach is simply charming.

Monterosso is the last village of the Cinque Terre and it shelters the most beautiful beach in the entire area. In case you have only one day to spend in the Cinque Terre, my advice is to visit the villages first and then spend a couple of hours on the lovely beach of Monterosso.
