The Albanian coast really impressed me with its incredible beauty. I can still feel and see the hot sand, the imposing cliffs and the dazzling colored waters so clear in my mind, as if time had stopped there.
I decided to spend an entire week in the area of Ksamil, a small and picturesque Albanian village, and after my experience there, I can honestly say that it was the best decision I could have made.It is true that I went on this trip having high expectations, because I had read a lot about this part of the country, but fortunately this Albanian village didn’t disappoint me.
Even though the architecture of the village is pretty simple and common, its amazing beaches make up for this little inconvenient. Ksamil is blessed with some gorgeous beaches which make it look like a piece of heaven. Stretches of fine white sand caressed by clear waters and surrounded by cliffs and small islands create the scenery of Ksamil. The coast offers a variety of beaches which cater for all tastes. From lively and crowded beaches to peaceful and secluded ones, all of them are special and unique in their own way.
Taking into account that I had a lot of options to choose from, it goes without saying that every day I tried to choose a different beach, because I wanted to discover every corner of this gorgeous village. Almost all these beaches belong to one of the restaurants which are situated on the shore and this is why they are really clean and beautifully organized. It is true that each beach I have seen has its own beauty, but only three of them conquered my heart.
Ksamil Beach is undoubtedly my favorite beach in this small Albanian village. The beach is divided into a number of small private beaches blessed with fine sand and clear turquoise waters. The pontoons, the wooden bridges, the small benches and the colored sunbeds and umbrellas embellish the scenery of this beach. Most of these small stretches of sand belong to the restaurants situated on the shore. My favorite beaches are the ones which lie in front of Tre Ishujt, Abiori, Bora-Bora or Guvat.
The fact that it is situated close to the center of the village makes it very accessible. In addition, Ksamil Islands are situated opposite this gorgeous beach. You can reach these four small islands by boat or you can swim there, in case you are in a good physical condition. Ksamil Beach is also appreciated for the good restaurants where you can try delicious fish and seafood specialties.
Not far from the lively Ksamil Beach lies another jewel of this village. I am talking about Lori Beach, a small stretch of fine white sand with a more intimate vibe, but equally gorgeous. Spending some time on this beach was a really relaxing experience. It was simply great to rest for a few hours on this piece of land surrounded by imposing high cliffs and caressed by turquoise and clear waters. I enjoyed every moment there and I spoiled myself with a good book and delicious fruit.
Lori Beach belongs to the restaurant with the same name and it is also equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, which can be used in case you are willing to pay a fee.
Pulebardha Beach is another wonderful beach situated in the area of Ksamil. The clear water which washes the narrow stretch of gravel and the lovely high cliff situated at the back of the beach, gave me the feeling that this small oasis of peace was specially created for me. It was a real delight to capture the beauty of Pulebardha Beach in dozens of pictures.
Even though this place has the vibe of a secluded beach, a small restaurant is situated at the top of the cliff. Here, you will have the opportunity to try a delicious meal and also to pay for a sunbed and an umbrella, in case you want to feel more comfortable. Being situated a few kilometers away from Ksamil, you have to drive about 15 minutes, on a country road in order to reach the beach. It is worth the effort because this mysterious beach displays its beauty in an absolutely gorgeous bay.
