No matter how many times you visit a place, there will always be something new to discover there. This was exactly what happened when I visited Budapest for the second time. I have really enjoyed visiting all those interesting tourist attractions again and of course, I have added a new one to my list.
During this second visit to Budapest I discovered another lovely place that caught my attention. It might seem surprising but this place is situated inside the Campona Shopping Center, somewhere on the outskirts of the city. I am talking about the Tropicarium, a beautiful aquarium which hosts about 50 small fish tanks, a huge saltwater aquarium, an open air freshwater aquarium and also an interesting rain forest. All these areas are specially designed to reproduce the natural habitats of a lot of animals, reptiles, insects, birds and fish.
An important aspect about the Tropicarium is the fact that it hosts the largest saltwater aquarium in Central Europe.
Another interesting detail about this place is the glass observation tunnel which gives you the chance to admire the sharks. As a bonus, in case you choose to visit this place on Thursdays, you will have the opportunity to witness how the sharks are fed. Every Thursday, visitors are allowed to feed the sharks between 3 and 4 pm.
Thanks to its beautiful scenery and to all the interesting things you can do there, the rain forest is one of my favorite areas in the Tropicarium. This place gives you the chance to admire the wonderful birds flying around you, to stare at the lively monkeys or simply to relax watching the artificial tropical rain which takes place at every 15 minutes.
There are a lot of things that can be admired in the Tropicarium and this is why, in my opinion, you should add it to your trip list. If I haven’t convinced you yet, I’m sure the following pictures will.
